橄欖油飲食會降低2型糖尿病風險
傳統的低脂肪飲食已被規定,以防止各種疾病,例如心臟疾病和糖尿病。而研究表明,高脂肪食物可能會增加某些疾病,如癌症和糖尿病的風險,看來它是計數,而不是脂肪量的脂肪的類型。我們現在知道,飲食中富含單不飽和脂肪,如橄欖油,堅果和種子中發現的那些實際上許多這些慢性疾病的保護。
發表在科學期刊糖尿病護理最近的一項西班牙的研究表明,地中海式飲食富含橄欖油降低II型糖尿病的近50%,而低脂肪飲食的危險。II型糖尿病是糖尿病最常見,最可預防的形式。

Olive Oil Diet Reduces Risk of Type 2 Diabetes
Traditionally a low fat diet has been prescribed to prevent various diseases such as heart disease and diabetes.While studies have shown that high fat diets may increase the risk of certain diseases such as cancer and diabetes, it appears that it is the type of fat that counts rather than the amount of fat.We now know that a diet rich in monounsaturated fats such as the ones found in olive oil, nuts and seeds actually protects from many of these chronic diseases.
A recent Spanish study published in the scientific journal Diabetes Care showed that a Mediterranean style diet rich in olive oil reduces the risk of type II diabetes by almost 50 percent compared to a low fat diet.
